OUR GREAT STORY 

SINCE 1978

De Jong Plant B.V. has been specializing in the cultivation and development of hydrangea since 1988. We also supply other species such as Lavatera, Malva, Paeonia and Syringa. Our company of 12 hectares with experienced personnel, both national and international customers and an always evolving product line has developed into a professional company within ornamental horticulture.

Now, with more than 40 years of experience, we are a professional company with ornamental plants of the highest quality.

1978

THREE BROTHERS

Cor (25 years old), Wil (24 years old) and Jos de Jong (21 years old) started growing on a piece of land in their spare time. The 1.5 ha piece of grassland behind the land of father Cor de Jong was bought and drained by hand for cultivation. This piece of land could only be reached by boat.
 
Almost immediately with the start of cultivation, the first products were also traded. Import of floriculture products from Belgium. The products were loaded by the brothers themselves in the evening and transported to the Netherlands at night. Everything had to be unloaded before 7.30 am. After that, they all had to return to their regular jobs.

1982

GEBR. DE JONG

Gebr. The Jong Handelskwekerijen was officially started in 1982. From that moment on, the brothers were able to work full-time in their own company. Almost from the start, the selling of floricultural products to Scandinavia was also started. From this moment on, exports to England and Sweden also began. The company's first specialities were rock plants and rhododendron.

De Jong Plant B.V. is serious with the environment. Therefore we strive to reduce our climate footprint. We grow our Hydrangeas with fewer pesticides, use recyclable information holders and we are MPS A, GAP and Social Qualified certified.
